Questions about the project and its public record.
Historical leads, original reporting, source suggestions or missing context.
Descriptions of photographs, recordings or documents and where they came from.
Journalism, research, transcription, translation or archival collaboration.
Attribution, permission, personal information or sensitive content concerns.
Sharing historical information
A useful first email identifies the relevant event or published page, describes the source, and gives a link to an original public record where possible. Explain what you know directly and what you learned from someone else. Contributions are leads for assessment, not automatically verified evidence or material for publication.
For photographs, audio, video or documents, send a description and provenance first. Do not attach large files or assume that sending material grants permission to reproduce it. Credit, ownership, rights and safety need separate consideration.
Sensitive information
Do not send identifying witness details, confidential records, passwords, medical information or unpublished case material by ordinary email. The project has not established a secure source submission channel.
Corrections, rights and privacy
Found a factual error? Read the corrections account before writing. Include the page URL, the passage in question and any public supporting source. A formal corrections intake and response process has not yet been adopted.
Questions about personal information, incorrect identification, image rights, credit or sensitive content can be emailed using the rights and privacy subject above. Describe the concern without sending additional private details that are not needed to locate it.
After you write
Your email app or provider handles sending and may show whether delivery failed. This website cannot confirm receipt. The project has not published a response time or a guarantee that every message will receive a reply.
Emails are not automatically published on the site. If a contribution is considered for the public record, its sources, attribution, rights and privacy need review. There is no adopted retention period or published privacy policy for correspondence; avoid including personal information beyond what is needed for your inquiry or a reply.
